We will venture to the northern coast of Basque country, where you can find family-owned wineries that grows the region’s most famous Txakoli wines. Due to its close position with the ocean, these light fluids are high in mineral and acid that goes well with seafood and cheeses. We will learn more about the production and taste them accompanied by local tuna, chili peppers, and chorizo. Then, take your afternoon to Getaria, a charming fishing town with a medieval center and colorful fisherman’s houses. Enjoy a leisure stroll before concluding at the harbor for your grilled seafood lunch. For dessert, we will visit a cheese farm in the Basque hills, where you will taste another culinary icon of the area, the Idiazabal cheese
Going out for pintxos (Basque Tapas) is an exciting and delicious way to experience the city of San Sebastian. Throughout the evening, we will visit up to five authentic bars where only locals will go and taste a selection of dishes with pairing beverages. You will enjoy a memorable night rubbing shoulders with the locals and learn some interesting customs from the region.
On the outskirts of San Sebastian lies the Chillida Leku, home to the most extensive collections of artwork by late Basque sculptor Eduardo Chilida. The museum occupies a converted caserío Zabalaga, a traditional Basque country house dating from the sixteenth century, and all its surrounding garden. The indoor exhibition space is partly temporary, while scattered across the outdoor landscape are 40 monumental and permanent works that blend seamlessly with nature.

A mission to learn more about the great painter Salvador Dali will take us to the region of Cadaques and Figueres. Located right before the French border, Cadaques is a pretty and remote coastal area that influenced and inspired Dalí throughout his artistic career. We will visit his former residence at Portlligat, which he kept developing for over 40 years, and hit one of the coastal paths in Cap de Creus Natural Park, where he is said to have confessed his romantic feelings for Gala. In Figueres, visit the Dalí Museum-Theatre, the largest surrealistic object in the world, built by Dali over the ruins of a 19th-century theatre destroyed at the end of the Spanish Civil War.
